Localizada no sopé do Monte Cassino, a cidade possui uma população estimada em 8️⃣ 2023 de 35.092 habitantes, com uma densidade demográfica de aproximadamente 0,37% entre 2011 e 2023.

    Apresentada pela primeira vez na forma 8️⃣ de um centro urbano no ano de 917, no contexto da Idade Média, a história de Cassino tem uma relação 8️⃣ forte com a do mosteiro beneditino fundado por São Bento de Núrsia em 529, conhecido como Monte Cassino.

    Entretanto, a região 8️⃣ de Cassino já era assentamento humano, conforme evidenciado na existência de sepulturas do período neolítico em povoados proto-vilanovanos descobertos nos 8️⃣ Morros das Fatecele, Castellone e Colle Rimmanente, onde hoje situa-se o território sul-leste da atual cidade (aproximadamente oito séculos antes 8️⃣ de Cristo).
