    A liga acabou sendo renomeada a "Taça de Ouro pela Liga", que no Brasil se chama Taça Ouro da Liga 🏀 de Futebol de Andebol, em homenagem ao vencedor do torneio.

    A Taça de Ouro também é conhecida na língua portuguesa como 🏀 Taça de Ouro da Liga de Futebol.

    Em 1992, o campeonato começou oficialmente com duas partidas disputadas entre seleções nacionais e 🏀 o torneio foi dominado pelo México, no qual

    a seleção do México venceu a Copa do Mundo de 1995.

    Porém no mesmo 🏀 ano foi realizado o "Torneio do World de Clubes das Sports" no qual a seleção da Iugoslávia derrotou a equipe 🏀 brasileira que disputou a competição.
